About Us

Built by someone who needed it.

Symbionic was founded in Chennai by Rishi Krishna, an upper-limb amputee, and Niranjan Kumar. We build modular upper-limb prosthetics that restore function, independence, and dignity, without the clinical coldness that defines most assistive technology. Our flagship product, the Krea Adaptive, is designed for real-world Indian conditions and real people.

Our Story

In 2018, Rishi lost his arm. What followed was years of navigating a prosthetics ecosystem that felt outdated, inaccessible, and impersonal. The technology existed. The aspiration did not.

Symbionic was built to fix that. Not as a charity project. As a product company that believes assistive technology should be engineered with the same ambition as any world-class hardware.

Today, Symbionic works with beneficiaries directly, through CSR programs, NGO partners, and government channels. We are clinical-stage, Chennai-based, and backed by Namita Thapar, Jeet Adani, and Kumar Vembu of Zoho.
